The Berlin correspondent of the Daily Express states that fifteen million women in Europe are doomed to become old maida. International statistics show that the excess of women over men in Europe has increased by ten millions . since 1914. Present surpluses are- In Germany, two and a half millions; in , Russia,, two and a quarter millions; in Austria and Italy, One million each. It is estimated that 35 per cent, of Ger* many'a marriageable women will. nev«r ■ find husbands.
