REFUSAL TO LEVY RATES.

(AUSTRALIAN • NEW ZEALAND OILS ASSOCIATION.) LONDON, sth August. A special meeting of the Poplar Borough Council last night refused to levy rates to meet the London County Council's and Asylum Board's demand for about £40,000, which caused the recent litigation.
