SHORTT'S THEATRE.
Dorothy Phillips, the Universal star, achieves an artistic triumph in "Once to Eveiry Woman," one of the twin stars of the current new bill at Shortt's popular theatre. Associated with 9 her is a notable cast, including Randolph Valentino, Robert Anderson, Elinor Field, and others, in a poignant drama v of the country and the stage. Aurora, the golden-voiced daughter of simple country folk, goes to the city to study and there' learns to forget her own people. Her refusal of an Italian nobleman, who has financed) her studies), raises the latter's jealous-frenzy to the extent that he shoots his protege on the night of the .consummation of her ambition. The subsequent loss of hex voice and her humble return to her home; the return of her, voice as her dying mother requests her to sing, arid' her attainment of peace and happiness in the love of an honest country lover, allows the winsome star ample scope for the display of her wonderful histrionic power. Viola Dana is on thei exceptional bill in "Puppets of Fate," in which she is cast as the little- Italian wife of an artist who seeks fame in Uew 'Sork. Mist Ann Sullivan sings "Ben Bolt" and "Home, Sweet Home" during the screening of the premier star. '. ' '
