DISCUSSION BY OTAGO UNION.
(Bl TBUORArH.—MIBBS ASSOCIATION.)
DUNEDIN, sth August.
, At a meeting of tho Otago Rugby ■ Union a letter was read from the secretary of the New Zealand Rugby Union advising that the rights--for taking still and (or) moving photographs of. the Te3t match had been included in the contracClet to a y photographic firm. Several speakers, including the chairman, strongly condemned the action of the Now' Zealand Union, also 'for not permitting the press to publish the names of the teams the day before the match. No resolution was passed, but the chairman said he thought all these matters should be noted with a view to their discussion at the, -annual meeting of the New Zealand Union. He added that it was a very petty and mercenary proceeding on the^New Zealand Union's part to sell rights in connection with an ( amateur sport like football.
