SAILORS' FRIEND SOCIETY
Despite the downpour, the provision of the hostess (Miss P. ReidJ for her seafaring guests at the Sailors' Friend Society on Thursday made a wonderfully bright evening. The performers were the Missei Esau »nd Reid, and Messrs. Davios, Tom George, Morris, Ellis, Kelly, and Poslewaite. Miss Reid was at the- piano. The ohorusea were rendered lustily by the men. The competitions raet the popular taste. Tho prizes were provided by Mrs. J. G. Smith and Picton friends, and went to the Pakeha and Durham. x
