MEETING OF PROGRESS LEAGDK.

Membere of the Karori Progress League discussed several matters of importance in regard to their wishes to bring the district into line with those- happier parts of the city where services are more up-to-date. A letter is to be sent to the City Council asking whether it is possible for the laying of drains in Karori to be commenced at once, in order that there need be no delay when the water supply is available, and inquiry is to bo made of the Gas Company as to whether it will be prepared to extend its supply-main to the district. A committee was formed to confer with the Northland Association in regard to the -establishment of a motor'bus service from the Kelbum tramway to ;the tunnel.

A motion was passed recommending the residents of Karori to favourably consider tho Mayor's .request for the prepayment of rates. Messrs. W. A. Andrews and T. S.. Ronaldson were appointed as delegates to attend the meeting of tho Civic Association on Wednesday next.

An offer was received from Mr. 1. Sykes of a shed for a gymnasium. A vote of thanks was accorded him for the offer, but the eonunitteo regretted that tho .shed was not sufficiently wellsuited for such a JHtrpjpeo*
