In a reference yesterday to Anzac Day observance it was stated that the Anzac Day Act of 1920 "leaves the occasional ■clash with the day of the municipal elections exactly as it was." It is pointed out that this matter has been provided for, not in the Anzac Day Act, but in the Municipal Corporations Act. In section 47, fixing the date for the biennial election of councillors, there is a proviso: "Provided that when the last Wednesday hi April as aforesaid is the twenty-fifth da>y of that month Ibemg Anzac Day) the general election shall be hold on the following da,y."
