At the Petone League's gymnasium ■ on. Wednesday evening a presentation was made by the members of the local Rugby League Football Club to Mr. "Doc." Nicholls, to mark the" occasion of his recent marriage. In making the presentation—the gift consisting of a handsome set of stainless carvers—Mr. .E. Tovey, vice-president, alluded to the high esteem in which Mr. Nicholls was hold. Appreciatory remarks of Mr. Nicholls's worth and services to League football were made by. Messrs. Langridge (secretary), Childs (selector), and Shanahan (club captain).
