It is rumoured that there has been a breakdown in the financial arrangements of the Home Rule Act, under which the first charge on Irish revenue was to be a contribution of eighteen millions towards Imperial expenditure, causing delay in fixing a definite date for the putting the Act into operation. It is stated that the Irish. Administration would be bankrupt, owing to the enormous increase in police expenditure, and Mihe decrease in revenue owing to the discontinuance of the excess profits duty. An amending Act regarding finance is conside:ed to be neoessaiy.
