WON BY ST. PATRICK'S COLLEGE.

The fifth-class competition was keenly contested, and in the various matches there wore several surprises. The Wellington College A team was beaten by Petone in the semi-final, and the latter team in the final went under to St. Patrick's College by one point—a force down. Final: St, Patrick's College v. Petone. The College boys had the advantage of play from the start, and at length by kicking towards the Petone goal and following up, the suburban boys were compelled to seek relief by kicking the ball over the deal-ball line. This amounted to a force-down, and the referee ruled one point against. Petone. St. Patrick's kept up the pressure until neaJ the end of the game, when Petone engugcd in a passing rush. This had no result, and the game ended: St. Patrick's College, 1; Petone, 0. Mr. H. Brookor was the referee.
