NEISON, Tim Day. There was a serious fire near Motueka Wharf last evening, the fruit by-product-factory, erected by the Nelson District Fniitpackers, Ltd., and now owned by the Agricultural Department, and leased to T. Houlken, being totally destroyed. This was reputed to be the largest fruit by-products factory south of the Line, The building contained a large quantity of valuable, machinery. Some five hundred cases of dried fruit and a larga quantity of vinegar were destroyed.
