DAVIS CUP
AUSTKALIA MIGHT NOT COMPETE
<UNiTB» prhss Association.—copyright.i ADELAIDE, 28th February. Patterson, interviewed regarding the Davis Cup prospects, »a-id that he was afraid he would be unable to go to America. It was possible that- though nominated Australia mi#ht not compete, for if. seemed that unless Brookes could go—and that appeared doubtful —.a team would noi be sent. ' Personally, he thought this a very good- opportunity to send a team of young players, not with any hope of winning, but to gain knowledge and experience. He thought that if oui best team, composed differently, could go to America, it would do better than it did at Auckland.
