Eeprosentatives of small shopkeepers waited upon the Minister of Labour (the Hon. G. J. Anderson) to-day to bring under his notice the effect of the Shops and Offices Amendment Act^ 1920. PrioT to the passing of the amendment the small sn'opkoepens, except in certain trades, were'at liberty to keep their shops open after 6 p.m., provided assistants wore not employed, and tho hoar of closing was decided by requisition of a' majority of those interested.
