Under the decision to allow the repatriation of deserving "diggers," despite the previous acceptance of their discharge, thirty-nine bachelors have already embarked. .. The application, of 04 others, with. 250 dependants aoeompa.nying them, have been approved,, and theseare now awaiting berths, with the addition of nearly 600 fiancees, wives, and children of previously repatriated "diggers" booked for Australia. The sum of £10,500 has been advanced to 580. ex-soldiers in England, en account of their gratuities, including twenty deserving cases, in which the full amounts have been paid. Owing 1 to the continued trade depression, many are seeking repatriation. It is . expected that the shipment of distressed ex-soldiers* is likely to continue, for some months. Oases are being .individually invetigated and passages taken as opportuities .offer.
