Mr. H. E. Leighton held an extremely successful sale of Mr, W. Knight's poultry farm plant at Lower Hutfc on Saturday afternoon, practically tho whole of the lots offered being sold at good prices. One Jersey cow brought £31 10a, and another £28. Among items which brought extraordinary prices were -several sacks of coke, which, retailed at 2s per bag, brought Sapor sack.
The City Fire Brigade received a call ;it 11.28 this morning to suppress an outbreak of fire, in a washhouse - on premises occupied by Jlr. W. E. Sordham, aia, Cub«'4v«fit. The wßghhouoo and contents were badly damaged.
