A FEW QUESTIONS

TO THJ BDITOK. Sir, —The city has been, .placardedwith posters, announcing a meeting for Sunday (to-morrow) evening, to raise funds to help' to release a Mr. Jim Larkin, who is at present undergoing a ten years' sentence for "sedation." Larkin is described as "the. founder o5 tho Irish Transport Workers' Union."-There are several queries which suggest themselves to the ordinary citizen, to whichanswers aro desirable :—ls La-rkin imprisoned in New Zealand or in England? If in England, why the meeting, and why collection ? Is it not a fact that Larkin is a violent anti-Britisher (that he is a disloyalist, his sentence for sedi- > tion testifies), 'and a Sinn Feiner? Who is to administer the funds proposed to be collected — : the official Labour Party, under whose auspices the meeting is, apparently, to be held, or the Siim Fein organisation in. New Zealand or in Ireland? Again, is the official Labour Party definitely allying itself with the cauee of Sinn Fein and sedition? It is noteworthy that the speakers are chosen principally from amongst the most prominent extreme Labourites in the city. The names appear to be of Irish origia for the most part. One other • query : 16 the name of Larltin being used to further the propaganda of disloyalty and sedition in this Dominion? These aire questions whicb every loyal and patriotic citizen should have answered before attending such a meeting, or assisting such a case. —I am, etc., BRITISHER. 26th February. ?
