PROPOSAL FOR GENERAL STRIKE

SYDNEY, This Day.
Union officials who have been consult.cd on the general strike suggestion describe it a-s madness, and' say that it would inevitably prove a failure.
The State Ministers are not perturbed, believing the proposal to come from "hot-air" extremists who are effectively separated from most positions of authority in the Labour movement.
The Labour Council adopted the report of the Melbourne Conference, and decided to form twelve industrial groups along the lines suggested.
