POLICEMAN & SOLDIERS SHOT

A policeman, patrolling the main street oi^Candon, was shot dead, while two soldiers''and a petty officer who were nearby were seized by '■ armed men. After giving a letter to the petty officer addressed to the commanding officer of the Eesex Regiment, they released him. Tile other soldiers were taken a. short distance and shot dead.
LONDON, 22nd February. Flynn has been sentenced to ten years' penal servitude for shooting a constable af Salford.
[A constable was shot in Salford, near Manchester, on 2nd January, and a large warehouse was set on fire on the previous night. Both outrages were attributed to Sinn Feinets.]
