BALLARAT MINE FLOODED
TWO MEN DROWNED.

MELBOURNE, 24th February.
An inrush of underground water into the Lai Lai Mine, Ballarat, drowned two miners named Ellis and Parker. ''Two others were washed along the shaft, but escaped. The workings were flooded to a depth of 30ft.
