ANNUAL MEETING.

The annual meeting of the New Zealand Master Printers' Association was held in the Wellington Chamber of Commerce rooms this week. The following members of the Council were present: Messrs*. J. i The annual report dealt with the work of the association during the year, referred to ' the arbitration proceedings conducted on behalt of the association ; also to bhe a-ccession to membership of the printers in Westland, and to the satisfactory financial position of the association.

The Chairman -welcomed members, and in his address referred to the many changes that had taken place in tho 'condition of "the' trade during .th^ year.Wages and material were at a summit, and the work of safeguarding the interests of members had in all matters received the close attention of the council.

Many matters o! interest to the trade w^ere discuss-ed and settled. During the meetings' an interview'with Mr.'M'Donald and the officers of the Industries and Commerce Depai-tment took place, apd tiw aims and objects of.' the new Department were explained by . Mr. M'Donald in, a. very full and instructive manner.

The officers of the association far the ensuing yeai- were elected as follow : President, Mr. J. Gamble; vice-presi-dent, Mr. T. Jones ; members of council, Messrs.- N. M'Robio, W. C. Cargill,A. A. Willis, H. Coull, A. J. Benzie, T. Somerville, S. N. Brown.
