According to the statement of claim, in- September, 1918, the defendant, by threats of physical violence, compelled the plaintiff to sign an authority to him to sell her, hou&e property in Greytown, plaintiff to accept £50 as amount of her interest in the property. By means of this authority defendant obtained £50 from a firm of solicitors in Greytown. Subsequently, in December, 1918, it was alleged that the defendant compelled plaintiff by threats of physical violence to sign an order making over, to the defendant all the moneys due on the sale of the property, less £75 for her share'in the cottage. By this means, itwas alleged, defendant obtained £167 9s lid from the solicitors in question. In January, 1919, it- was claimed that the defendant sold a piano of hers of the value of £.75. The total amount of the claim was £292 9s lid. The defence was,a complete denial, and a declaration by the defendant that the property was his. ,
