•Theophilus La Monthe Ralfe, who had pleaded guilty at Oamaru to four charges of theft, came up for sentence. Tho money involved,, which was taken from Patriotic Funds, totalled £686. Prisoner had paid back £200. A sentence of'three years' imprisonment was imposed.
