OPOTIKI, This Day. The ideal weather conditions which have prevailed for the Parliamentary tour continue. The party left for Motu at 8 o'clock this mfbrning.
GISBORNE, This Day. The Parliamentary party this morning journeyed from Opotiki -to Motu> traversing the Motu Gorge, from which magnificent views of rugged bush scenery, with the waters of the .. Bay .of Plenty glistening in the distance; were obtained. After, luncheon at Motu the party visits the timber mills of the district, and inspects the site of the Waikohu hydro-electrio works, which' it is "hoped will supply the Gisbome district with electricity within two years. Exltensivs tunnelling operations • are in progresn, and a site has been stripped for the erection of a* large dam across the Waikohu Valley. A large party of townspeople interested in the Waikohu project went out to meet the visitors and show them over the works. ■
Te Karaka will be reached in time for afternoon tea. An official welcome will be tendered at Gisborne this evening, occasion being taken at the same time to mak"e a presentation from the Gisborne people to Sir Jam«s Carroll, in recognition of his long service as their representative in Parliament.
