THISTLE CLUB.

The annual meeting of the Thistle Football Club was held last evening, Mr. F. Sutherland presiding over a. large attendance of members and club supporters..

Before proceeding to business members paid a silent tribute ■to the memory of the late Mr. James M'Loan, a vice-presi-dent and strong supporter of the club, whoso death took place recently. In moving the adoption of the annual report and balance-sheet, the secretary reported that heavy expenditure had been incurred in the purchase of jerseys, £8 19s 9d.having, been expended in 1950,, as compared with only £1 Is in the previous year. Otherwise, the financial position was good. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. • , The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted: President, Mr. R. Dwyer; the names of Messrs. W. Cowan and V. Bannister were added to the list of vicepresidents; 'management and selection committee, Messrs. Campbell, Duncan; R. Jardine, Ferguson, M Ardle, M'Lellan, and Hands; delegates .to W.F.A., Messrs. Bannister, M'Ardle, and Sutherland; auditors, Messrs. Bannister and Sutherland; secretary" 1 and treasurer, Mr. Hector Smith; junior secretary, Mr. R. E. Small. The secretary reported' that good progress had been made with the building up of both the senior and the junior teams, most of last season's players having already signed, besides several new ones. The prospects for the season were the brightest.
