Residents of Miramar borough are to celebrate the amalgamation' of their borough with the City of Wellington on 31st January at the Council Chambers, Broadway. The last meeting of the local council will be held prior to the public funcr tion, which will take the form o£ a social evening, to which all residents and ra.tepayers have been invited. Copies of a very interesting souvenir that .is in preparation will bo available, giving an outline of events of major importance during the existence of the borough sinco '1904. An invitation has nlso been extended lo the Mayor. (Mr. J. P. Luke) and the' City Councillors,, together with the executive officers'to be present, and a pleasant gathering should rosult.' 'y .
