SERIOUS LOSS OF ORDERS.

A Hull firm has lost, through the' competition' of Germany, contracts ■ which have kept it employed for* two years. With a view to checking 'the loss of heavy, orders which are daily going to Germany, Belgian, and American firms, the Scottish steelmasters announce reductions varying from 20s to 70s per ton. Thij is the third reduction in two months. The Belgians continue to dump iron bars at far below cost. .
