WAIKANAE YEARLING SALES
■ Ths Waikanao yearling sale, held at Mr.- r lan Duncan's stables, Thorndonquay, -yesterday afternoon, was well attended, bat bidding was somewhat slow. There • was not the brisk demand oxperienced twelve months ago, when record prices were realised. Tho eight lots sent into the ring. reflected credit on Studmaster Handley, Mr. A. Boyle, of Christcliurch, acted; as auctioneer. The eight lots realised 1960 guineas, an average of 245 guineas. Tho purchasers were as follow : —

Brown filly, by Martian—Snow Waif, Mr. J. J. Corry (Blenheim), 150 guineas.
Brown' filly, by Bonifonh—Mayhap, Mr. W. Stone (Invercargill), 120 guineas. Bay filly, by . Boniform—Snowstell, Mr. C. Jackson (Hawera), 190 guineas.
