A request for the extension of the time during which motor cars are allowed, to stand on the Auckland streets was made to the City Council this week by the ' Commercial Travellers' Association.- The applicants stated that members found.it difficult tp.carry on their business in'the shprt time of 15 minutes now allowed. The actingrtraffic inspector reported that-the time mentioned >vas insufficient, and he thought \t should bo extended. If this were done, however, it would be advisable to have a distinctive mark afiixed to f-he nqmberplates. He recommended the letter C/'be placed on all tyroa, fide commercial travellers' cari. The 'Finance and Legal Coniinitt.ee, to which the matter had been referred, however, recommended that thp rcquest^pf the travellers be declined, and the coiincil adopted the recommendation.
