PROGRESS OF NEGOTIATIONS.
Tho executive of the Coal Mine Owners' Association mot yesterday aftornoon, and afterwards conferred with Jbhe Prime Minister regarding ' the trouble at 'the Blackball mine and the go-slow policy now being- put' into operation in the mines. It is understood that the present position is that thb miners and mineowners are both disposed to accept the Pririie Minister's suggestion that the matter in dispute 6hould be referred to a committee of the parties- with an independent, ohairman. Each side, however, makes conditions, and one of these concerns the selection of, the chairman. Further negotiations will be necessary before the proposed . method of. sottlomeht is agreed upon.
