Of 169 casks of tallow offered, only 87> were sold at 2s decline. Mutton 52s to 445; beef, 51s to 425.' There is, a slump in' line beef, due to the absence of demand from tho margarine makers, -who are no. longer taking tho edible, ■ which,, consequently, '.is only fetching soap-making prices. (Received January 21, 10 a.m.) ■ LONDON?2Oth January. .' Owing to the poor demand, tho tallow sales will not be held until further notice. Messrs. Dalgoty and Company. Ltd., report having received the following cablegram from their London house, under date of 19th instant:—"Tallow—ls9o casks offered, 87 casks sold; sellers willing to accept 2s to 3s reduction, but buyers are holding off. Owing to absence of demand, auction indefinitely postponed."
