CONFERENCE STOPPED BY A STRIKE. j

SYDNEY, This Day.
It was stated before the compulsory conference on the engine-drivers' claims that all the Queensland coal-mines are idle through a dispute respecting. which union tv/o employees should join. The conference adjourned until the mines resume working.: Mr. Hibble, the chairman, stated that the workers could not have a strike and arbitration too.
