SEAMEN READY TO MAN THE SHIPS
IMPORTANT MEETING ON
MONDAY.

As a Tesult of secr-st negotiations with the Fedeval Government, a delegation of union officials is proceeding to Sydney to-night to meet the Transport Workers' Union. There is every reason to believe that the delegation will suggest the advisability of the stewards returning to work, and will outline the terms proposed for resumption. ■ (Receiving January 21, 11.15 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Trades Halj, officials announce that the stewards' . strike is drawing to a close. A meeting of stewards has been called for Monday, when a proposal from the Melbourne Trades Union Disputes Com■mittee will be discussed. The Seamen's Union has officially announced that it i.~> prepared to man-the ships under the conditions prevailing prior to the strike as soon as the stewards have reached a settlement ot have declared the strike off. The Transport Workers' Federation, at Monday's meeting, will submit a motion in favour of the stewards balloting for the' question of resumption.
