LODGE MEETINGS
The Pontkc Lodge, No. 21, U.A.O.D'., Putone, held its fortnightly meeting on Monday evening. A.D. Bro. Martin presided. The bards reported fivis brothers on the sick fund. One candidate was initiated. Tho officers and brothers of the various Ripter lodges were present for thy occasion of the presentation of tho shield, and all were accorded a, hearty welcome to which all suitably responded. G.P. Bro. Flanagan was also present. In the course of his remarks, he paid a tribute to the' ritual work and congratulated the lodge on its wm and the able manner in which tho meeting was conducted. Tho officers of the R.A.O. then asked the G.P. to present the shield. Bro. Davis was the recipient of a gold-mounted fountain.pen as a token I of respect in which the lodge has hold him during his term of twenty -one- years as treasurer. Bro. Williamson received his P.A. collar, and diploma. Toasts were hon. oured, and various members contributed items, which were v/ell received. Bro. M'Lauehlan's oichestra gave an-enjoyable programme- ... ;Conrt Sir George Grey, 3118,- A.0.F., held its fortnightly meeting at the.Dominion Farmers' Institute,' C.R. Bro. E. R. Wood presiding. The half-yearly and yearly balance-sheets were read and adopted.- The sum of £426 2s..lGdVwas expended on sick pay, and on funeral pay £290;. extra funeral, pay £46. In connection .with printing, stationery, and postage charges, it'was, shown that postage alone cost the Court for 1920 ■the sum. of £15 12s, 9d, and the Government would not allow any concessions to Friendly Societies. The sum of £76 was paid away for maternity -benefits. Two new members'* were initiated, and one more was proposed' for membership.
