The wool sale .which commenced yesterday afternoon is 'considered satisfactory.' At 11.20 p.m., when the sale Stopped for the day. 1 about 75 per cent, of. the offerings, totalling 9,803 bales, had been,disposed of. Merinos were ire a disappointing condition, except for & few super, and the prices, compared with, Christchurch, were lower.' .Ihere'.was a good demand for half-breds, but for thinhaired wool there was not keen demand. The following prices ware realised for pieces: Super Bto 12,, medium to good, sid to 7sd; inferior, S^d to sd; bellies, super, 7-j.d to 9d; mediunl to good, 5d to 7dj: inferior, 3d to 4gc|; locks, .haH-bred, 3d to 4d; ■ crossbreds, Hd to 3d. , . ■'; ... ■
