MR. FRANK 'LSWRY.

(81 TEUSGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.)

AUCKLAND, TJiis Day. Mr. Frank Lawry, motnber for Parnell from 1890 to 1910, died to-day, aged 77. He leaves a widow and one daughter.

The late Mr. Lawry was born at Bleadon, Somersetshire, in 1844. He was educated at We-ston-super-Maro, and came to Now Zealand in the ship Ulcoates in 1863. He engaged in farming in the Auckland district. For thirteen years he was chairman of the Epsom Road 'Board, and for two years was a member of the Auckland Education Board. He was first returned to Parliament as member for South Franklin in 1881. In 1884 he was defeated for Manukau by tho late Sir Maurico O'Rorke, but ho was elected for North Franklin at tho next election. From 1890 to 1910 he sat as number for Parnell. Ho was appointed Senior Cfovornment Whip in 1891, but resigned the position in 1894. Since 1910 he had'lived in retirement at Auckland. Ho was a'prominent Freemason and a Past-master of Lodge Manukau.
