Hendry has notified the Cricket Board of Control that he will be unable to go to New Zealand.

W. W. Armstrong and O. E. Kelleway, by their splendid stand, have again placed the third Test in a sound position for Australia. The fifth century should not prove too hard for the Colonials, who have silenced the street critics on the question of letting England win.. The Australian captain has clinched the argument in the Commonwealth as to, leadership, and his piloting in England during the 1921 summer will be followed closely by his numerous enthusiastic admirers in New Zealand. 'Armstrong has now scored three centuries in Test matches -With England, which is on the same mark as J. Darlmg and P. S. M'Donnell. C. E. Kelleway obtained his first century yesterday against English bowling in Test cricket. S. E. Gregory and H. Trott scored 221 for the fourth wicket for Australia at Lord's iii 1896, but yesterday's total of 194 beats the. English record of 161 compiled, by W. Barnes and A. Shrewsbury on tho same wicket during the 1886 summer. The Third Test at Adelaide in January, 1908, witnessed tho splendid score of 243 by C. Hill and R. J. Hartigan, which enabled the Cornstalks to notch an easy victory! Australia has a lead of 271 runs in the present match, with Kellewa-y, Pellew, Gregory, and Oldfield to further enhance the score sheet.
