PREMIER,

WX'ITED I'RKSS ASSOCIATION.—COPIUIGiIT.)

(AESTIULIAN - NEW ZEALAND CABLE ASSOCIATION.)

(Received January 19,. 11 a.m.)

LONDON, 13th January.

An interchange of telegrams between Sonator jNTiilen and Sir. Hughes in reference to the Acting-Premiership, of the Commonwealth during Mr. Hughcs's intended visit to Europe may result in the abandonment, of Mr. MiJlen's American trip and his early departure, via Suez, to enable him to confer with the Cabinet before Mr. Hughes leaves. It is understood that .'Mr. Millen'a financial negotiations are making aatistactovy progress, and that the Commonwealth loa.ii is practically assured. The Commonwealth's floating debt to the Imperial Government, of £40,000,000, will probably be .funded and subject to. a combined annual interest and sinking fund.
