REMINDER NEEDED

It is reported that Repatriation officers have been experiencing 1 difficulty lately in finding employment for soldiers. This difficulty arises, it is believed, only because employers are apt to overlook the Repatriation Office when they have vacancies to be filled. The oversight ia not intentional; but in the result it is the same as if it were. The employer who remembers in a general way all that the soldiers have done for the country is not doing his duty unless he remembers the present need of some soldiers for employment. The men who are suffering for this forgetfulness are just those who should suffer least—the partially disabled men. They are unable to engage in heavy work, and must; seek light employment. It is because they went to the war, and were there disabled, that they are forced to this restricted choice of employment. Their position gives them a prior claim on Work of this class, and we feel confident that the employers of New Zealand will not continue to overlook the fact. '
