WELCOME RAIN
WEATHER AGAW FINE.
Though people who had sports and other outdoor engagements on Saturday were inconvenienced by tho rain, it wasweloomed by suburban residents, who had seen their gardens gradually drying up. In the 48 hours ended at; 9 o'olock this morning, an inch of rain fell. 'Yesterday however, the weather was clear and sunny, and to-day is equally pleasant. The forecast is for cool and changeable weather generally, with scattered showers. Tho winds will be moderate to strong from the south-'yest, and squally' at times in and southward of Cook Strait.
