The coalowners are concerned at "the continued reduction tin output. In 1913 the output was 12,500,000 tons; in 1919, it was only 9,000,000 tons, though the men had been increased by 1267 during the same period. The output per man in 1913: was 553 tons, in 1919 it was 540 tons, and in 1920 it was 490 tons. The working hours average six hours a day, and the output is six million, tons beldw the market requirements, and one million tons below the Australian consumption.
