- Count de Saint Aulaire, M. Paul C'ambon's successor, is aged fifty-four, and ia the grandson of M. Saint Aulaire, who was Ambassador in London in 1841 to 1848, at the time of the first Entente Cordiale. He is described as one of ibo most aristocratic figures in the French diplomatic service, a man with a. modem mind, outspoken, end anxious to keep in touch with all forms of public and social life. Ilia appointment is hailed with satisfaction in both countries.
