(SMITH MIIM ASSOCIATIOW.— COMRMMT.) MELBOURNE, 6th .November. The weather was fine, but'at times cloudy, for the final day of the F.R.C. Spring Meeting. There wa« an excellent attendance, and the going was good. Results: — ■■ • .. > Batman Stakes, cf 750 soys; one mile. —Earl Simon, 8.7, 1; Erasmus, 9.0, 2; Refraction, 8.2, 3. There were eleven starters. Won by half a length. Time, lmin 40aec. Flemington Stakes, of 500 soys; six furlongs.—Antarian, 9.10, 1; The Storm, 6.6, 2; Otacre, 9.7, 3. There were fourteen starter*. - W6nrby...halt,a length,, the same distance between second and third. Time, lmin; 15sec. C.B. Fisher Plate, of 1500 sovsj one milo and a half.—Eurybhmic, 9.0, 1 J Poitrel, 9.5, 2; Salitros, y.9, 3. There were three starters. Poitrel led early, but Eurythmic took charge at the five furlong post, with the others well up. Eurythmic had the race won at the halfdistance. Time, 2min SOJrsec.
V.R.C. Handicap, of 1000 eovs; one mile and three-quarters. —Clever ■ Jim, 7.0, 1; Ethiopian, 8.10, 2; Wildun, 7.9, 3.- There were fourteen starters. Won by three-quarters of a length. Time, 3min ljsec. Victoria Steeplechase, of 750 «ovs; about three miles and a furlong—Com^ promise, 10.11, 1; Hobgoblin, 10.10, 2; Wooloo, 11.2, 3. There were ten start,ers. Won by half a neck. Time, 6min 19isec. /■•'■. Final Handicap, of 1000 soys; one mile and a quarter.—Caririole, 7.2, 1; Elfacre, 8.9, 2; Miss Tinkerton, 7.6, 3. There were fifteen starters.
