GOVERNMENT PARTY REDUCED.

The polling proceeded with.a total absence of excitement, for which the closing of hotels is considered to have been largely responsible. The figures, w/ich are so far incomplete,- are unfavourable for Labour, showing the loss of several seats. (Received October 11, 9 a.m.) BRISBANE, This Day. Progress returns reduce ths Government/majority from twenty to Eight. Two Ministers' seats are doubtful at present, but the figures are incomplefis. The new Country Party has gained threa seats in the Wide Bay district.
