(Received October 9, 1 p.m.)
MELBOURNE, This Day.
In the House of Representatives, Mr. Tudor moved an amendment on behalf of Mr. Ryan, who is engaged on the election campaign, that the Queensland Judiciary Bill should be withdrawn and replaced by a Bill giving power to the High Court to compel manufacturers and others to give the cost of production, manufacture, and shipping of goods, and show their profit on capital invested, and to provide penalties for the giving of false information or refusal to supply information. Mr. Tudor added that company operations in the last three years had shown the necessity for such legislation. Of 110 millions of share capital, 62 millions was actual capital; 12£ millions was transferred profits, and 36 millions transferred otherwise than in cash. The debate was adjourned till Tuesday.
