Wind—L, light; br, breeze;f b, fresh breeze; m, 8 , moderate gale; g, whole or heavy gale; w, gale ol exceptional severity.
At S a.m. to-day the followinj forecast was issued for the subsequent 21 hours :— Winds—Moderate to strong southerly winds, veering to westerlies, northward of New Plymouth and Napier; westerlies, increasing elsewhere. Barometer—Unsteady; falling shortly, especially in the South. Seas—Considerable en all the western coast and between Castlepoint and Kaikoura; heavy in Foveaux Strait; moderate elsewhere. Tides—Moderate northward of Hast Cap*: Rood elsewhere. ' i Warning signals for westerly gales are exhibited at Cape Camphell and Xupget Point.
