N { o reply has, been received;to the Cricket Association's later invitation to the English amateur team. The association has cabled suggesting the inclusion of Hirst or another no'tsd internationalist.
Napier and Christchurch High Schools have challenged for the Heathcote Williams' Shield, now held by Palmerston North. Hawkes Bay have lodged the first 'challenge for the Plunket Shield, held by Auckland.
