■An instructive lecture in connection with the , Brooklyn • Horticultural Society was given on Tuesday in Waldie's Hall, Brooklyn, by «Mr ' G. J. M'Kenzie, Superintendent of City Reserves. Mr ' M'Kenzie confined his attention to ro;;e culture, and observed that his 'experience had been that horticulture was more advanced in the South Island than in the North, where it was followed by the few.
