PARAMOUNT THEATRE.
" Victory," an adaptation of Joseph Conrad's story of the same name, will head the new bill at the Paramount Theatre to-night. The plot is one of Conrad's best, and the producer, Maurice Toumier. has succeeded to the full in bringinglou) the power of the story and depictingj the true atmosphere of life as it is in the South Sea Islands. The scenic effects of the picture alone raise the production above the average, and through the story of intrigue' and plotting between a dreamer and a shrewd and scheming German trader there runs a delightful love story. ' A. very good selection of supports-will also be:shown.
