New Zealand's final contest against Metropolitan was a runaway, affair, the visitors winning by 81 points to 5. _ The local team were without some prominent players, and were as helpless as sohoolboys before the Black invasions. Shortly after the commencement of the game Hingist gathered in the ball neai- touchgoal, and, skirting past Badeley, passed to Mingay, who scored and converted. From this _ out the New Zealand players initiated a succession of passing movements, which invariably ended in a score. The local men's defence was the feeblest imaginable. Tries were scored by the following :-r-Baird and Badeley, three each; Tilyard 1, Jacob, M'Lean, and MoffiU, two each; Storey, Wilson, Roberts, Duncan, and West one eacii. The following kicked goals :—Roberts five, Moffitt two, Baird, Brown, Tilyard, West, and Storey one each. New Zealand has played seven matches altogether, scoring 266 points against 77.
