WEATHER FORECAST

At 9 a.m. to-day the following forecast was issued for the subsequent 24 hours:— Winds—Northerly, strong to gale at times backing to southerties after from 16 to 24 hours. Barometer—Falling, but rise in about 20 hours. Seas—lncreasing to heavy on all the -western coast and between Castlepoint and Kaikoura; rough elsewhere. Tides—Moderate on the west coast; good elsewhere. Warning ugnals for northerly gales are exhibited at Cape Maria Van Diemen, Tiritiri, Castlepoint, Cape Campbell, Stephen Island, Farewell Spit, Cape Foulwlnd, and Nugget Point.
