WEATHER FORECAST
At 9 a.m. to-day the following forecast was issued for the subsequent 24 hours:— Winds—Northerly, strong to gale at times backing to southerties after from 16 to 24 hours. Barometer—Falling, but rise in about 20 hours. Seas—lncreasing to heavy on all the -western coast and between Castlepoint and Kaikoura; rough elsewhere. Tides—Moderate on the west coast; good elsewhere. Warning ugnals for northerly gales are exhibited at Cape Maria Van Diemen, Tiritiri, Castlepoint, Cape Campbell, Stephen Island, Farewell Spit, Cape Foulwlnd, and Nugget Point. Weather—Continue unsettled, with further rain generally, and heavy rain in many parts; snow on the higher levels in the South Island, and colder conditions following. B. V. PEMBERTOX.
